Don’t Buy One Minute Millionaire

One Minute Millionaire
Don’t buy “One Minute Millionaire” until you read this. Does anyone out there actually believe that they can become a millionaire in one minute?

If you are familiar with who the authors of “One Minute Millionaire”, you have to ask yourself why these professionals are writing this book. Mark Victor Hansen is best known for his “Chicken Soup For The Soul” series of books. He’s a multi-millionaire. Robert Allen made his millions with a real estate book called “Nothing Down” which explains how to use other people’s money to make a fortune in real estate. Allen is a character, he regularly puts outrageous challenges out to the media like, “Sit me at the keyboard of any computer in the world with access to the Internet, and in just 24 hours I’ll earn at least $24,000.00 in cash.” Ok, so he actually delivers on his promises, (he made over $94,000.00 in 24 hrs).

So these guys are multi-millionaires, so why don’t they just go sit on a yacht and live the life of the rich and shameless? According to their book it’s because they have a new goal. Their goal is to create 1,000,000 millionaires. I don’t know about you, but if someone wants to make me a millionaire I am not going to stand in their way.

8 Opt-In Offers Your Visitors Can’t Refuse - Entrepreneur

These days, consumers know that their personal information is gold, and they won’t give it to you unless you give them a really compelling reason to opt in to your list. And it’s definitely worth your while to give them the incentive because a good opt-in e-mail list will start generating profits for your work at home business immediately–and continue to do so well into the future.

Email Marketing with AutorespondersThere are tons of different incentives you can use to encourage people to give you their personal information, but not every offer will suit every website or business.

Most people think of newsletters right off the bat, for instance. But for some businesses, a free newsletter just won’t work. Suppose, for example, that your site sells washers and dryers. You’re going to be hard pressed to come up with interesting, relevant information about laundry for your free newsletter every month.

Before you start a newsletter, think about how much relevant information you can deliver to your audience and how much time you have to put it together so it can be delivered regularly. If it turns out that a newsletter isn’t a good fit for your business, here are eight other ways to collect your prospects’ e-mail addresses: [Read the 8 Tips from Entrepreneur]

Top Tax Write-Offs for Your Home Business That Could Get You in Trouble With the IRS

From guard dogs to Las Vegas-style showgirl costumes, there’s no limit to what people will try to write off at tax time for the sake of their business. But where do you draw the line? Which write-offs you’re trying to write off go too far?

We assembled a team of three leading tax attorneys to get their advice on how far is too far in the land of tax write-offs. Our team of experts include Cliff Ennico, a Connecticut-based business attorney who specializes in advising small businesses and entrepreneurs; Donna LeValley, a tax attorney and contributing editor to the J.K. Lasser annual tax guide; and Alvin S. Brown, a tax attorney who formerly worked with the office of the chief counsel of the IRS for more than 25 years.

Tax Write-Off:Travel Expenses
Here’s a write-off that’s sometimes difficult deciding just where to draw the line. Can you deduct the cost of going to see a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas if you’re treating your client? The answer is yes, as long as you can justify it as a business expense. And what if your spouse goes along on the trip? As long as they’re a partner or employee of your business and attended conventions or meetings on the trip you took together, then his or her travel and 50 percent of his or her meals are also deductible…. Real Freelance Writing Jobs

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Writing for a living is the career choice of many creative professionals - whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, technical, trade, online or other specialist area. Writing markets and mediums are wide and offer numerous business opportunities for freelancers, consultants and telecommuters.

A sizable proportion of the writing community work as freelancers. Many work from home offices or laptops from locations around the country and the globe. Writing is a job that has few physical boundaries, as long as you have access to a computer, the Internet and a phone - and of course, the talent. Freelance writers enjoy flexible hours and freedom of movement, even though the work is deadline driven. For many writers, their work is a labor of love. But it’s also reassuring to learn that writing skills are in high demand across all industries. According to labor market research, job opportunities for writers are on the rise and demand from newspapers, magazines, websites, business and non-profit organizations and book publishers is expected to be strong. So, with the right mix of skill, experience, qualifications, effective networking and marketing, you can combine a rewarding career with the benefits of a free agent lifestyle.

The markets for freelance writers are numerous and diverse. Print and online publishers, business of all sizes, public relations firms, advertising agencies, professional, non-profit and religious organizations, educational institutions and government agencies use the services of freelancers and consultants. You might be commissioned to write a book, article, newsletter or marketing copy. Or you might be contracted on a project-basis or for a set timeframe. A good source of work are the rapidly growing special interest publications (online and print) aimed at ‘niche’ markets.

So, how do you kick-start your freelance career? A proven track record or evidence that demonstrates your talent is vital. Show potential clients that you can express ideas clearly and logically and that you can work to a brief. A relevant college degree (journalism, communications or even liberal arts) is highly regarded, as is some on-the-job training. Technical or business writers require qualifications and/or professional experience in a specialized field like IT, law or engineering. Online writers often need to be familiar with web technology and electronic publishing software software. Learn more below:

Start an eBay Business Effortlessly

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

easy ebay business
With more than 2 billion items listed on eBay in the past year, and close to $50 billion sold, the sheer size of this online marketplace can be overwhelming. Fortunately, as eBay has grown, the company has worked hard to make it easier for new sellers to get started and be successful. Here are 10 quick and easy steps for building a business on eBay.

1. Just Do It
Some people aren’t sure where to begin, says Terry Gibbs, founder of IWantCollectibles.com and author of The Auction Revolution. Gibbs has been buying and selling antiques and collectibles online since 1997. At his business’s peak in 2002, Gibbs was auctioning more than 500 items per week. Although the pace of his eBay selling has slowed since, he says, “eBay is the best way to sell [an item] quickly for the most money.”

2. Create a Routine
Next, pick a block of time you’ll devote to your business on eBay. Set aside a certain part of the day, or particular evenings each week, to pack up auctions that have ended, list new items for sale and respond to e-mails from potential buyers, says Gibbs. Not only does such discipline stake out time for your new business, but keeping sold items moving out the door also helps make space for new merchandise.

3. Take a Good Picture
Though item descriptions are important, the photo may be even more essential. Buyers assume the photo is the best-case scenario–that the product probably looks worse in real life, says Justin Hartenstein, 25, founder of Advanced Automotive Concepts in Metairie, Louisiana, which sells custom car headlights. A good photo can make or break a sale.

Launch Your Work at Home Career Online

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Karyn Martin was cautious about launching her freelance career online, but she soon got results:

Real Work at Home Jobs
“I remember the days when I dreamed of being a freelancer,” she says. “The word seemed magical to me somehow. Romantic, almost. Now, after having actually been a freelancer for a while, the scales have been lifted from my eyes and I have seen the light. You pay for being able to manipulate your time. You pay by working more, working harder, and - hopefully - working smarter. But what you get in return is priceless. Now I can call the shots about when I work, for whom I work, and how much I make.”

One day, Karyn decided she was no longer willing to commute in smog-laden traffic to sit in a cubicle for eight hours, come home, eat, sleep, wake up, and then do it all over again. Going through the same routine, day after day, week after week , only to wake up one day old and tired - wondering how life might have been if she’d had the guts to go it alone.

So she decided to become a freelancer - but how would she find work? She had spent endless hours surfing the ‘net, signing up with one freelance site after another. Yet there was an incredible amount of competition. She never seemed to win any bids, and was adamant about not lowering her hourly rate.

“Then I discovered Freelance Work Exchange,” she says. “I had heard “don’t pay to work!” repeatedly, and I was too poor to risk getting scammed, but I took a chance one day when I was flush and sent twenty bucks to gain access to the Freelance Work Exchange Professional Edition.

“Since then, I’ve edited a sales letter, a follow-up letter, an 11-page Web site, and a brochure. I’m ‘on call’ to do pinch-hit proofreading for a medical newsletter editor in Florida while he’s on vacation, sick, etc. And I’ve landed a gig editing a new Canadian magazine coming out this fall. All this from taking a $20 chance on Freelance Work Exchange.”

Of course, it helped to send prospects a few previous work samples she’d had the presence of mind to scan and save on disk. Also, since she has been ‘in the business’ for more than five years, she has a fairly good résumé with some experience to back up the claims, along with a strong list of references.

“For every one of you out there feeling a little discouraged, and especially for those of you on the verge of throwing in the towel, I’m here to tell you this. There may not be a Santa Claus, but there is a place to find work without paying some ridiculous “transaction fee” or never knowing whether or not the projects are ‘fresh’ - and even the name is easy to remember - Freelance Work Exchange.”

Hot Market Opportunity or Passion

Monday, November 27th, 2006

When it comes right down to it, business owners fall into two camps: People who follow their passions, and clear-eyed folks who look for great moneymaking opportunities. Each side says its approach works best.

Part Time Home Businesses

On one hand, following a market opportunity has glittering allure: A great opportunity can make a lot of cash. On the other hand, following your passion has romantic appeal: All day long, you’re around a product or service you love.

But what are the downsides? Are people who follow their passions more likely to fail? There’s no hard research to support that claim. While the steady stream of bankrupt restaurants, bed and breakfasts, and golf companies does seem to suggest that the passionate approach is weak on results, reality is far more complex.

Beating the Odds
Miles Cook looked like a failure statistic waiting to happen: a 25-year-old guy who loved motorcycles and wanted his own motorcycle dealership. At first glance, he seemed to be headed for disaster. Even the banks thought so. “I was young, and a lot of banks didn’t even want to talk to me,” says Cook, now 32. After five banks declined his application, Cook read an Entrepreneur article listing the top banks for small businesses in each state. Sure enough, one of those banks agreed to loan him the money for his startup. Now Cook’s Rochester Motorsports Inc. in Rochester, New Hampshire, does a brisk business selling the most popular brands of Japanese motorcycles, with nearly $10 million in annual sales.

“It all comes down to passion. Blind ambition is better than 20/20 indifference,” says Cook. “If you’re passionate about what you do, the sky is the limit.”

Work at Home Computer jobs can open a whole new way of life - and you don’t even need to change your field of work. The new breed of computer jobs won’t tie you to the office. You can telecommute or you can choose to be your own boss.

The phrase ‘Computer Jobs’ refers to undertaking work remotely, usually using a computer, fax machine and other technology. Setting up a well-appointed home office can be relatively inexpensive when compared to start-up costs of other small businesses. Access to readily available technology gives you the option of freelancing from home or telecommuting. If you would rather continue working as an employee, talk to your boss about working from a home office. The technology revolution combined with changing career attitudes have created a growing in demand for home-based work opportunities according to numerous occupational surveys. Many people are opting for this ‘non traditional’ career path to achieve a better balance between work and home life. This is trend is being lead by a growing number of Mom’s and Dad’s who want to spend more time with their families. Computer-based work from home allows them the freedom to do this while pursuing a financially and professionally rewarding career.

Traditionally, jobs that were ‘technology intensive’ and less reliant on face-to-face contact were those that took place in the IT or programming fields. The reality is that they cover a huge range of industries. Whether you’re a writer, graphic designer, medical transcriber, desk top publisher or programmer, your work is likely to be technology-based. This means that the potential for freelancing and contracting is great for:

Freelance Work at Home Typing Jobs

Real Work at Home Jobs
One of the most plentiful work at home jobs around is freelance typing jobs. Almost every business needs it done and most people can type. More people aren’t cashing in on freelance typing because it sounds too good to be true. But, if you know where to look, there really is enough work out there to keep a freelancer busy and able to make good money.

What you need to know before taking the plunge into freelance work at home typing is that there are a lot of people in the internet world who want to take advantage of your eagerness to work from home. Be very careful before you give money to agencies or individuals who claim they’ll supply you with home typing jobs for a small fee! While there are perfectly legitimate freelancing agencies that will let you access their jobs listings for a membership fee, there are also groups or people who will take your fee and merely give you a data sheet full of websites where you can advertise your services. Watch out, and be sure you know who you are giving your money to, and what you are getting in return. Freelance typing is a real job, you just need to look in the right places!

How to Start a Home Party Business

Friday, November 24th, 2006

It’s a party at your home–or better yet, at someone else’s. Customers socialize, and you make money. Need more convincing?

Home parties now account for roughly 29 percent of the nearly $30 billion in U.S. direct sales, and 13.6 million Americans bought or sold goods from home in 2004. Direct sellers are hawking everything from organic gardening supplies to wine. Some are even hosting virtual parties online. And the numbers are growing, according to Amy Robinson of the Direct Selling Association in Washington, DC. “The majority of companies coming into [the] DSA are party plan companies,” she says. “In a lot of cases, they are smaller, newer companies started by entrepreneurs from their basements.”

Andrew Shure (below) is one of them. Nationwide, he has 1,300 consultants selling Shure Pets pet products, and he predicts he’ll have 2,800 by the end of 2007. “The only requirement at Shure Pets is a passion for pets,” says Shure, 43, who launched the Chicago-based business in 2003 and projects sales of $1 million for 2006. Another example is Newburyport, Massachusetts-based Anna William, which lets customers design their own handbags. Kristen Lee, 29, launched the million-dollar company in 2003 with Keek Bielby, 57; Rani Chase, 36; and Erin Hornyak, 33–and already has 125 consultants nationwide.

Be sure to thoroughly research any company you’re considering, and make sure you love the products. As Robinson says, “It’s no fun to sell something you’re not interested in.”

Avoid Failure in Home Business

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

Very often in home business you see people fail after they appear to have had success. In some cases they may have even had significant success only to lose a great deal of it. How can this happen to people who have demonstrated a mastery of the business?

Home Business Leaders
Over 2000 years ago the author of the book of Proverbs correctly identified pride as a major cause of failure. The reason pride can be so devastating is because it blinds us to reality. Being blind to reality prevents us from responding to situations in ways that will best benefit us.

I have seen marketers start to succeed in their online business. They master the prospecting process and become proficient in recruiting new distributors. Then one of several things can happen. They may stop learning and improving themselves because they no longer feel they need it. The result is a gradual loss of motivation and ends with the inability to adapt to the ever-changing marketing environment. They may get over confident in their track record. They may even try to double their efforts with the idea that it will bring twice the results. Pride often leads them to find that they have lost focus on the fundamentals that got them there in the first place. This is because pride rejects reality and substitutes it’s own instead.

Then there are those who have achieved what most would call major success – a solid six-figure income and a thorough understanding of the business. Still, occasionally these people fail. The reasons usually lead back to pride. Pride makes you inflexible and gives you the false belief that you are infallible and immune to failure. As a result, pride leads to the wrong actions, the wrong timing and the inability to recognize it.

Fortunately the author of Proverbs also provides us with the solution to this problem. He states that riches and honor come through humility. Humility is simply not thinking so much of yourself that you begin to think that you are always right and everyone else is wrong. This isn’t to say that one should not be confident in their ability or to give up the faith that they can indeed accomplish the task at hand. On the contrary, humility is an approach to life that holds that you can learn from others and that every part of business and life is subject to continual review.

This holiday season, recognize what you have and be thankful for it. Most of all recognize that you have the ability to direct your own destiny. Through your work at home business you have the power to change not just your own life but the lives of hundreds even thousands of others. For this you should always remain thankful.

Start Your Home Business Part Time

Tuesday, November 21st, 2006

Nearly 1 out of 2 people in the U.S. work from home in some capacity…
as part-time entrepreneurs, full-time business owners, and telecommuters.

Make money blogging part time
At one time or another, most of them have had to work around a “day job” for an outside employer, with the work usually done from an outside office. Nearly three-quarters of all home businesses are started on a part-time basis. Most of them hope that their part-time ventures will one day turn into full-time ventures. Many also want a back-up income should they lose their present job or need to supplement their retirement income. Others start a part-time job to fulfill their desire for more creativity and satisfaction in their work. With today’s technology, almost any type of business can be started from home.

If you use the right combination of productivity, technology, time-management, and smarts, you can run your business while at your day job and do it in a manner that is both ethical but still allows you to maintain or even improve your day job performance.

IRS and Small Business Audits

Monday, November 20th, 2006

BusinessWeek

The taxmen have stepped up their audits on small businesses, and that has many entrepreneurs crying foul
by Jeffrey Gangemi

The tax gap in the U.S., which the IRS defines as the missing amount from taxpayers who don’t file their tax returns and pay the correct tax on time, currently stands at around $345 billion. Mark Everson, the IRS commissioner, has been working to reduce the gap since he took office in March, 2003.

“To make sure that there’s an impression of fairness…,” Everson says he first focused on high-income individuals and larger corporations, but now the IRS is stepping up its audits of small businesses.

home business tax help

In fact, the IRS enforcement increase has already begun in earnest. In 2005, audits of the roughly 5.7 million small businesses the IRS recognizes to be organized as corporations increased significantly, with 17,867 audits, up from 7,294 a year earlier.

Unfair Targeting?
Audits of corporations with assets over $10 million also increased in 2005, but by a much smaller percentage: up 14% from the previous year, to 10,878. Everson says he expects 2006 to reach an even greater rate of small-business enforcement.

Both the IRS and business taxpayers agree that some fraud exists for small businesses and individuals reporting their taxable income. But in response to the IRS crackdown, small-business owners and advocacy groups are crying foul, claiming smaller firms are being targeted with unfair audits that could penalize them for small or unintentional transgressions…..”

Home Office Design Ideas

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Work at Home Office“If you work from home, you know the importance of having a space that’s just for work. Allowing your job to spill into your house - especially when you have paperwork and files spread across the kitchen table - can make it harder to create a distinct line between work and home.

For most work-at-home professionals, the solution is to set aside a part of their house that’s exclusively designated for work related tasks. In many cases, this is a home office. A work at home office allows you to “close the door” on your job and focus on your family once the workday is over.

But what should you do if you don’t have an extra room to dedicate to office space? With a little creativity, even those with limited space can set aside an area for their work. Try one of these options.

Funding for Home Business Startups

Monday, November 20th, 2006

If you missed the first internet wave, it may not be too late. Working with new business models and boosted by investors’ growing appetites for dotcom startups, a second swell of online enterprises is emerging.

Venture capitalist Sam Jadallah of Mohr Davidow Ventures in Menlo Park, California, says that since media giant News Corp. paid $580 million to buy fast-growing online community-builder MySpace.com in 2005, entrepreneurs have been working feverishly on internet business plans they hope will appeal to consumers, investors and potential buyers.

Another reason for the return of interest in the internet: affordability. “The cost to get into business and experiment is dramatically lower than it was in the first boom,” says Jim Fowler, 41, CEO of Jigsaw Data Corp., a San Mateo, California, company founded in 2003 that helps members buy, sell and trade business contact information. Open-source software, offshore programmers, commodity-priced servers and other elements of internet infrastructure are better developed, better understood and less costly than before, Fowler says.

The companies that are part of the resurgence employ an approach labeled Web 2.0. It calls for websites to actively involve users, who build the business by contributing personal pages a la MySpace or valuable information like the corporate executives’ phone numbers and e-mail addresses bartered on Jigsaw.com. “It’s a lot more participatory now,” says Di-Ann Eisnor, 34, co-founder of Platial.com, where users contribute maps of favorite places. “[Users] don’t just come in and read something; they come in and do something.”

Holiday Toys Equal Business Opportunities

Toy Business OpportunitiesHot Holiday Toys offer Money-Making Opportunities!

Whether it was the Hoola Hoop, collectible Barbies, Furbies, Cabbage Patch Kids or the original Atari games of the 1970s, there have always been “must have” toys and games that have generated a frenzy at local stores, especially around the holidays. Today, however, in a new age of consumerism, driven by an “absolutely must have at any cost” mentality, gamers, toy collectors and, in some cases, manipulated parents are not only pre-ordering the latest fun favorites but are bidding them up to 10 times their standard retail price on eBay.

This year, cashing in on shoppers’ demands to have it “now” (or even sooner), retailers are touting their offerings earlier than ever by putting pre-order tickets in the hands of the buyers. But with much of the supply sold before the products even hit shelves, a secondary market is emerging: Smart sellers are capitalizing on the public’s insatiable demand for these hot items by using the leverage they have as owner of one of the “golden tickets” to resell them for an exorbitant price–and pocket the difference.

Gearing Up for PS3 & Wii
The latest craze focuses on the forthcoming releases of Sony’s PlayStation 3 on November 17 and Nintendo’s Wii on November 19. Pre-orders at several leading retailers, including EB Games, Gamestop and Toys R Us, allowed those who got in under the early October deadline to secure consoles and even games for the new systems. Some of the early buyers are gaming enthusiasts, but others are “situational” entrepreneurs who are turning around and selling the consoles on eBay, where prices for the 20GB and 60GB PS3s are already topping $2,000 and rising.

Julian Georgescu, a gaming enthusiast who runs the website www.MyWii.com, says prices will most likely hit well over $3,000 by Christmas. “It’s mostly hardcore gamers who are buying them at these prices,” says Georgescu, who camped out overnight last month to pay a $50 deposit for his own pre-order Nintendo Wii. (For full disclosure purposes, you should know Georgescu also works for Entrepreneur.com.)

The retail prices for the 20GB and 60GB PS3s are $500 and $600, but “They’re only shipping a limited number nationwide–I think it’s around 400,000,” offers Georgescu of the reason behind the pre-order frenzy. Nintendo, meanwhile, expects to sell some 4,000,000 units of the new Nintendo Wii by January. Despite that number, the $250 console has seen bids of $500 and up on eBay…..Read Full Article from Entrepreneur.com

Start Your Own Blogging Home Business

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

It’s not just a hobby - some small sites are making big money. Here’s how to turn your passion into an online empire.

Make Money Blogging
(Business 2.0) — Michael Arrington is a partying kind of guy. While showing off his home in Atherton, Calif., he boasts about how he crammed 500 people into his one-acre backyard at a bash in February. Then there are the official parties, like the one he threw in mid-August at August Capital, a nearby venture firm. Arrington posted an open invitation on his website at 3 a.m. By sunrise, all 500 spots were taken; the onslaught of traffic crashed his site. “I knew it would be fast,” says Arrington, who houses so many out-of-towners in his ranch home that he often isn’t sure who’s crashing on which mattress on which floor in which room.

Arrington, a 36-year-old entrepreneur behind a long list of unrecognizable startups, has suddenly become one of the rising stars of Silicon Valley. Why? The answer lies in TechCrunch, Arrington’s blog about new technologies and companies. In the year since he launched the site, he has amassed such a strong following that he’s become a go-to person for VCs and tech execs looking to leak corporate tidbits or announce news. More than 1.5 million readers regularly check out his site. But here’s what gives Arrington real distinction: He’s pulling in $60,000 in ad revenue every month. That’s 10 times what the site was making earlier this year, which was when Arrington, convinced of the potentially monstrous riches ahead, quit his day job as president of a startup to blog full-time.

With Internet-like speed, blogs have gone from self-indulgent hobbies to flourishing businesses. Real businesses, with real revenue streams from real advertisers–not overhyped next big things with pick-a-number valuations based on selling out someday to some overenthusiastic big-media sugar daddy. Boing Boing, a four-person operation that bills itself as a directory of wonderful things, is on track to gross an estimated $1 million in ad revenue this year. The digital-media news site PaidContent.org, headquartered in the second bedroom of a Santa Monica apartment, is set to post even more than that. And Fark.com, a site packed with sophomoric humor run by a lone guy in Lexington, Ky., is on pace to become a multimillion-dollar property. Where are the Real Work From Home Jobs?

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Are there real work at home jobs? Yes there are some, but, they are not nearly as plentiful as you would think considering the amount of interest there is in working from home. They are also difficult to find. Job seekers who are interested in home employment need to spend a good deal of time searching for legitimate opportunities, as well as a significant amount of time weeding through scams.
Getting Started Working at Home

Many people who work from home started out working in an office, but, were able to arrange with their employer to work some or all of time at home. I have an acquaintance who relocated to Washington, DC. Her employer decided to enable her to work from home, rather than losing a valuable employee. I have another acquaintance who works part-time from the office and part-time from home in order to accommodate her children’s school schedules.

About: Job Searching

“The best job sites for finding work at home job postings aren’t necessarily the sites that focus on work at home jobs. Many of those sites, unfortunately, do little more than solicit your money. And remember, the first rule of work from home job hunting is never to pay.

Jobs that promise you oodles of money with little investment of time and no experience aren’t legitimate. Legitimate work at home jobs are going to require that you have skills relevant to the position. Many jobs require skills like writing, graphic design, programming or web design, for example. If you don’t have any experience in the field(s) you are interested in, it’s going to be difficult to find an employer willing to hire you. Most employers who are willing to hire someone to work from home want workers who can work independently and get the job done with little guidance.

Check these sites and set up job search agents to have new postings sent to you via email. There are typically a tremendous number of applicants for each position and you will want to be among the first to apply.

Here are some good sites to check regularly for work at home listings:

Make Things Happen with your Home Business

Monday, November 13th, 2006

Become a Home Business Leader“The most successful salespeople are the ones who make things happen where they are, not the ones who jump ship to new companies every year, hoping to find happiness somewhere else.” - Ralph Roberts

I have seen this happen time and time again. People who are in a work at home business and are frustrated because their business is not growing. So what do they do? They start searching for a new business in a hope they can succeed more.

Once they find a new home business they close up shop on the first and start a fresh new game plan with their new business. Most of the time they find themselves frustrated in a few months because they are not succeeding.
Have you ever jumped from company to company in a hope that you will finally succeed?
Have you had downline who jumped ship for the very same reasons? Chances are you have.

It’s a fact of human nature. When things get tough or just don’t go our way we jump ship and go to a new company. Our hope is the grass will be greener on the other side. I have witnessed this with many people only to see them get further behind in their debt and find themselves still struggling toward success.

Unfortunately, jumping ship and starting a new business is rarely the answer. The key is to stay in the business you are in and build with what you have. There is no magical formula that will create the success you are searching for. There is no one best company or compensation plan.

In fact, every company has its strengths and weaknesses. The bottom line is you MUST develop your skills. Focus in on longevity with the same company. Overtime, your prospects will recognize you have longevity with your company which can
create a competitive advantage for you.

Realize, if you jump ship all you are doing is starting over. This means you must buy new marketing materials. You must gain new knowledge of products, services, procedures, and new systems. You will even lose any momentum you had with your
current business. Moving to a new business will cost you money.
Succeeding in network marketing requires action. To take action, you must develop your skills. Keep in mind, the successful do not jump around. The successful make things happen from where they are and with what they have.

NOTE: Success requires a sustainable motivation. A sustainable motivation is like the Energizer battery… “it keeps you going, and going, and going!” Having a sustainable motivation will allow you to overcome the ups and downs of building your own business without getting derailed from moving toward your main objective.
Begin developing your sustainable motivation today by reading at least ten minutes a day. Read something uplifting and positive!
Developing a sustainable motivation builds confidence and confidence is important for keeping you on track of building your network marketing business. Confidence is important for keeping you on track of building your network marketing business.
